History, Herstory, Your Story From kings to candlestick makers, everyone's life has a story worth telling. But how can you turn your personal story into a fascinating page-turner that
will fly off the shelves? We'll take a look at how four bestselling authors turned their private sagas into tales for
the ages, and how you can do the same! Helping Your Child Find
the "Inner Writer." (For
parents, teachers and caregivers.) We all know at least one child who has said, "I want to be a writer!"
But how can we help nurture their creative instinct without crushing their artistic spirit? And how can we support their
ambitions when we know how hard it is to make a living as an artist? Find out five things that you can do to help a
child you love cultivate their talent and pursue their dreams. Writing and Publishing: What I've Learned So Far
(For beginning
and unpublished writers.) The craft of writing, the business of publishing. In this workshop you will find
out what I've learned - and unlearned - in my brief but interesting career as a writer. Query Letters There's no way to underestimate the importance of your query letter.
It's the first line of assault in selling your novel, and it may be the most important piece of promotion you ever do as a
writer. But like many important things, query letters are also frustrating, challenging and occasionally just plain
tiresome. In this workshop, we'll dissect the query letter and see how you can make the most of this vital (and unavoidable)
part of being a writer.
